Today whatever happening in any corner of the world is known to us in no time.   The Electronics & Communication branch of Engineering technology is responsible for this  achievement.  The influence of Electronics  & Communication in the life of human  being is very    strong.  Understanding the scarcity of qualified and efficient technicians in this field,  many young people have chosen this trade.  The chances of entering into self-employment activity  is  very good in this trade. 

This Engineering course is introduced by the Kerala Government considering the great and urgent need felt for trained manpower in the field of electronics and communication, as a result of ever growing industrial development and rapid technological advancement. In a survey conducted by the department of Electronics, Government of India, about the future requirement of trained manpower in the operation of sophisticated electronic equipments, it has been revealed that there is an acute shortage of trained people in the field of electronics. This course is meant to train youngsters to operate, maintain, service, repair and manufacture complicated electronics and communication equipments.

Scope
Employment opportunities exist in the manufacture and servicing of television, V.C.D., radio, telephones, Computers, transmitters, railways, etc. The field of electronics is developed at the rate of 20% in India.
